Site visits (Google Analytics)

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly where they come from. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your browser and device type, the pages you view and how you arrived at the site. It does not tell us who you are.

The book waitlist

If you join the waitlist for The Illness of Thoughts, your first name, last name (if you give it) and email address are stored with Mailchimp, the email service the site uses. They are used only to send you news about the book and Walter's writing.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by writing to walterh@yorku.ca.

Contact and speaking request forms

When you send a message or speaking request, the details you enter (such as your name, email, organization and message) are passed through Formspree, a form service, and delivered to Walter by email. They are used only to reply to you.

Substack posts and fonts

The latest Substack posts shown on this site are loaded from Walter's Substack, and the site's typeface is loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser may connect to these services when you view a page. Your browser may also store a copy of the latest posts for up to an hour so pages load faster.
